these are beautiful – you realise that washing hung outside is a ‘sign of life’ and possibly a testament to community itself!
Man, laundry day was incredible. Certainly a sign of community, as the previous commenter wrote. And it makes for cool photos.
Safe to assume there is no Vera Wang or Ralph Lauren blowing in the breeze. And folks were probably too busy washing clothes by hand to worry themselves w/ things like threadcount.
